Doing business in the Savannah area since 1929,
Chatham Radiator Specialty Inc. serves the industries of our coastal area with integrity and an emphasis on service.
Paul Pearson started Chatham Radiator Company on Bay St. in downtown Savannah, Georgia in 1929 during the Great Depression. It was first located in the area of the Savannah Civic Center and then later on Bay St. The Depression took a toll on everyone, bec
ause there was no money. Customers would bring produce and meat from the farms in exchange for work on their trucks and farm equipment. Men would promise on a handshake that they would be back to pay for services when they got paid on the next Friday – and they kept their word. However, despite the struggling economy, Chatham Radiator survived!
Paul later bought property and moved the business to 315 W. Wayne St. After the building burned down in 1965. Paul’s oldest son, Albert, then bought the business and rebuilt the building with the intention of continuing his father’s legacy. Albert operated the business with much success for many years. His son, John Jr., began working with him in 1986 and eventually took over the business in 1999. John decided that emphasis on the heavy duty radiator market and services was crucial to the longevity of the business, so in 2008 a new state-of-the-art building was completed at 5134 Augusta Rd in Garden City and became the new home of Chatham Radiator.
Since 1929, Chatham Radiator has always taken pride in the service and products that we provide for our customers.
